Gauge Types
Learn the different strategy types (shown as gauges)—Automated Liquidity (IchiVault), CL Fees, and Agents—plus who earns emissions and how to find them.
Thirdfy supports multiple gauge types. The key idea is simple:
- Voters (staked xTFY holders, including o33) decide how emissions are allocated across gauges.
- The protocol applies the same emissions policy across all gauge types (how much is distributed, how it’s split, and what happens to any undistributed amount).
Automated Liquidity Strategy (IchiVault vaults)
These gauges target Ichi-managed vault strategies that manage liquidity positions for users.
- What you vote for: a specific automated liquidity strategy (gauge).
- Who earns emissions: liquidity providers in that vault strategy.
- Why it exists: hands-off liquidity provisioning, with emissions routed by governance.
Manual Concentrated Liquidity Fee Strategy (Manual CL)
Manual CL gauges target manual concentrated liquidity positions (ranges / positions).
- What you vote for: a Manual CL gauge tied to a CL market configuration.
- Who earns emissions: eligible CL liquidity participants as defined by the gauge implementation (typically staked v3 LP NFT positions).
- How it differs from swap fees: CL swap fees are earned from trading activity; emissions are separate incentives routed by votes.
- How to participate: create a manual position (you receive an NFT) and stake it in the dashboard when a Manual CL gauge is available. See: Manual Positions.
Agent Gauges
Agent gauges are keyed by an agent identity (not a liquidity position). This is a preview of where Thirdfy is heading:
- What you vote for: an agent identity (typically the agent’s ERC‑8004 address).
- Why it matters: ERC‑8004 is the identity + trust layer that lets the community safely incentivize agents and the protocol record the trust relationship over time.
- Who earns emissions: details are being validated; the goal is outcome‑aligned incentives with verifiable accounting.
Reward token whitelist (safety)
For safety and predictability, gauges enforce reward token whitelisting. This helps prevent unexpected or malicious reward tokens from being injected into gauge accounting.
